Swiss Arbonia has sold Schekolin’s metal packaging coatings business to Italian Salchi Metalcoat
Building supplier Arbonia AG (“Arbonia”) in April 2017 sold the metal sheets and aluminium tubes and monoblocs packaging coatings business of Schekolin AG (“Shekolin”) to Salchi Metalcoat S.r.l. (“Salchi Metalcoat”). Financial details have not been disclosed.
Lincoln International (“Lincoln”) acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Arbonia for this transaction as part of the structured international sale process for Arbonia’s coatings activities. This transaction, together with the sale of Schekolin’s plastic coatings business to German Siegwerk and of Schekolin’s manufacturing facility in Bendern (Liechtenstein) to Finnish Teknos, provides for the complete sale of Schekolin. The successful completion of the three interdependent transactions underscores Lincoln’s position as a leading mergers and acquisitions advisor for corporate disposals and strong advisory expertise in managing highly complex transactions.
Salchi Metalcoat, headquartered in Burago, is an Italian supplier of coil and packaging coatings. With the acquisition of Schekolin’s metal packaging coatings business, Salchi Metalcoat strengthens its product range with highly reputed coating solutions and forays into promising international markets.
For Arbonia, this transaction is a crucial step in the complete disposal of its coatings division which it has acquired in the context of the public takeover of Looser Holding AG.
