Swiss Arbonia has sold Feyco Treffert to Teknos Group

Building supplier Arbonia AG (“Arbonia”) has sold its global wood coatings division Feyco Treffert (the “Company”) and Schekolin AG (“Schekolin”), including the manufacturing facility in Bendern (Liechtenstein), to Finnish coatings manufacturer, Teknos Group Oy (“Teknos”). The parties have agreed not to disclose financial details of the transaction.

Lincoln International (“Lincoln”) acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Arbonia for this transaction as part of the structured international sale process for Arbonia’s coatings activities. This transaction, together with the sale of Schekolin’s plastic and metal packaging coatings businesses to Siegwerk and Salchi Metalcoat, respectively, provides for the complete sale of Feyco Treffert and Schekolin — two highly associated businesses due to the shared manufacturing facility in Bendern, Liechtenstein. The successful completion of the three interdependent transactions underscores Lincoln’s position as a leading mergers and acquisitions advisor for corporate disposals and strong advisory expertise in managing highly complex transactions.

Feyco Treffert is a leading supplier of wood coatings for floors, furniture, doors and carpentry products with headquarters in Switzerland and Germany and subsidiaries in China, Malaysia and the U.S. The Company serves both large and mid-sized industrial customers as well as individual carpenters.

Teknos is one of the leading European suppliers of industrial coatings with a strong position in retail and architectural coatings. The Group has 1,300 employees and a presence in 18 countries. The acquisition of Feyco Treffert strengthens Teknos’ position in the wood segment globally, provides access to new geographic markets and opens new business opportunities in the wood and construction industry. In addition to Feyco Treffert, Teknos has acquired the manufacturing facility of Feyco Treffert’s sister company, Schekolin, located in Bendern (Liechtenstein), which will focus on the production of wood coatings going forward.

For Arbonia, the transaction is a crucial step in the complete disposal of its coatings division which it acquired in the context of the public takeover of Looser Holding.
