Rovers Medical Devices is the world’s leading developer and manufacturer of innovative sample collection devices for the prevention and diagnostics of cervical cancer. With a track record of over 35 years, Rovers’ brushes are considered the gold standard among sample collection devices by medical professionals, enabled by proprietary thin hair technology that ensures maximum stability of samples and superior patient comfort. Its devices are used to obtain samples for cytological and molecular testing. From its headquarters and production facility in Oss, The Netherlands, Rovers’ products are distributed to over 100 countries globally.

The Deal

Under the ownership of Smile Invest, Rovers laid the foundation for its next growth phase by reinforcing the position of its key products globally, launching compelling new products and investing in the organization and highly automated manufacturing. Following several years of high growth, the shareholders decided to attract a new partner to support the business in its next steps to prevent cervical cancer globally. Lincoln International was engaged as the exclusive sell-side advisor, running a process through which Halma plc (LSE: HLMA), a global group of life-saving technology companies, emerged as the perfect partner to facilitate Rovers’ international growth ambitions.
