Smart Education Limited has been sold to TES Global Limited

Lincoln International (“Lincoln”), a leading global mid-market investment bank, is delighted to have represented the shareholders of Smart Education Limited (“Smart Teachers”) which was sold to TES Global Limited (“TES Global”). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Smart Teachers was founded in 2005 by Geoff Lennox and Richard Fielding. It is a fast-growing, London-based teacher supply agency, working with primary and secondary schools to provide short- and long-term placements. Teachers are primarily sourced from the U.K., however approximately 35% are sourced from a network of small offices in Australia and New Zealand. Within the M25 area, its core geography, Smart Teachers has relationships with c.500 schools and has established itself as a market leader.

Lincoln acted as the lead advisor to Smart Teachers’ shareholders. With deep knowledge of the buyer population and up-to-date understanding of their strategies, Lincoln’s process recommendation was to introduce the opportunity to a very small number of strategic trade acquirers. TES Global presented as an outstanding buyer with potential to contribute to Smart Teachers’ ongoing growth story. As a result, TES Global was then invited to agree terms to complete an off-market deal within a strict time frame. The transaction adds to Lincoln’s strong sector credentials spanning public sector and private sector recruitment, agency and education assets.
