Sinterwerke has been sold to Sumitomo Electric
Lincoln International, a leading global mid-market investment bank, is pleased to announce the sale of Sinterwerke, a manufacturer of power metals parts to the automotive & truck industry, to Sumitomo Electric Industries of Japan. The transaction represents the 12th global automotive and truck deal for Lincoln in less than a year.
Sumitomo Electric Industries (SEI) is a market leader in powder metal products in Asia and has a strong market position in NAFTA. The acquisition of Sinterwerke adds European operations in order to become a global market leader.
SEI expects this acquisition to significantly enhance its high-performance automotive sinter products platform by leveraging Sinterwerke’s world-class materials and process technology. Sumitomo Electric Industries aims to strengthen its development and solution capabilities for its clients through innovation and enhancement of core technologies and to support their customers on a global scale.
Lincoln International has acted as exclusive investment banking representative to Sven Dübbers, the shareholder of Sinterwerke, in this M&A transaction and organized a structured sale process with international strategic and financial investors.
