PDQ Workholding has been sold to Sandvik

PDQ Workholding

Headquartered in Columbia City, Indiana, PDQ is a leading US-based manufacturer of custom workholding fixtures and precision cutting tools for various machining applications. Workholding fixtures are used to secure workpieces during machining while consumable precision cutting tools are used to bore and mill metal components during the computer numerical control (CNC) machining process. PDQ operates manufacturing facilities in Columbia City, Indiana and Slinger, Wisconsin.

The Deal

After founding PDQ in 2010, Jerry Busche quickly established the business as a leading provider of custom workholding and precision cutting tools. The business expanded both organically and through multiple add-on acquisitions and differentiated itself through best-in-class engineering for complex projects, short lead times and superior customer service. To support its continued growth and innovation, PDQ sought a strategic partner for the next phase of its development. PDQ turned to Lincoln International to execute a competitive and successful process given Lincoln’s expertise in the tool and machining industry and strong relationships with top strategic and financial acquirers in the space. PDQ will sit under Walter, a division within Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions (SMMS).

Our Perspective

Bobby Reifman, Lincoln International Managing Director who led the transaction, commented, “The tool and machining industry continues to generate strong investor interest from both strategic and private equity investors. Sandvik was a logical fit given the complementary nature between the company’s product offerings and the ability to capitalize on opportunities with potential customers earlier in the value chain. We are excited to see the future growth that will result from the partnership.”
