Koenig & Bauer has acquired Flexotecnica
Stockmarket quoted Koenig & Bauer AG acquires the majority of shares of Flexotecnica S.p.A., a subsidiary of Italy based Officine Meccaniche G. Cerutti S.p.A.
Flexotecnica is an innovative manufacturer of specialty printing machinery for use in printing flexible packaging materials. Through this addition Koenig & Bauer expands its portfolio in the growing print market for flexible packaging. The final takeover is, however, still subject to the fulfillment of certain contractual conditions, including the approval by the relevant antitrust authorities.
Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA), Würzburg, is the second-largest printing equipment manufacturer worldwide, with the broadest product range in the industry, and a key supplier to the global media industry. KBA’s core competence is the development and manufacture of technologically innovative yet cost-effective printing systems and peripherals for a broad range of applications and industries. With some 6,300 employees KBA is present in all major geographies in Europe, North America and Asia through own sales subsidiaries and a network of agents.
With circa 100 employees in its main location, Tavazzano, Italy, Flexotecnica designs and markets central-cylinder flexo presses for printing on various flexible packaging materials. So far Flexotecnica has been focusing on Europe and on some overseas markets.
Officine Meccaniche G. Cerutti S.p.A., is an Italian group specialized in gravure for packaging and publication with headquarters in Casale Monferrato near Turin.
Lincoln International was mandated by KBA as exclusive M&A advisor for the acquisition process. Despite the complexity of this cross-border transaction it was possible to complete the process most efficiently in only a few months.
