John Masters Organics has been sold to Permira
Lincoln International (“Lincoln”), a leading global mid-market investment bank, is pleased to announce that owners of John Masters Organics, Inc. (“JMO”), operating under the premium organic personal care brand “John Masters Organics,” have agreed to sell a majority (direct and indirect) of shares of JMO to a company backed by Permira funds (“Permira”). This continues Lincoln’s momentum in the beauty segment as the second transaction in the last month. It is also reflective of Lincoln’s focus on serving “better for you,” natural and organic brands.
JMO was established in 1991 by Mr. John Masters, a well-known stylist in SoHo, New York. JMO currently distributes its premium, organic personal care products in more than 40 countries under the concept of “providing luxury, organic beauty that treats the earth with respect.” The brand has received a number of awards from numerous media outlets, demonstrating its leadership in organic personal care.
The partnership between the founders of JMO (Mr. John Masters, and Mr. and Mrs. Noda) and Permira, which has expertise in global expansion and a wide global network in premium and lifestyle brands, will enable JMO to further expand globally.
