Brummer Logistik
Brummer Logistik provides multi-temperature groupage, warehousing and logistics solutions, serving food producers and retailers. The company specializes in cross-border solutions between Germany and Austria, leveraging a strategically located 40,000 square-meter warehouse (located near Passau, Germany) for frozen and refrigerated food to facilitate optimal utilization of transport capacity and efficiency in transit times. Since 2021, family-owned Brummer has successfully established itself as a provider of high-growth business-to-business and business-to-consumer fulfillment solutions for pet food retail. Brummer operates this business from a highly automated warehouse with 45,000 square-meters of storage space, in St. Marienkirchen, Austria. Brummer generated revenue of €128 million in fiscal year 2023 and currently employs around 950 staff.
The Deal
The two owners and managing directors of Brummer engaged Lincoln International to prepare and execute a structured sale process as they had decided that they would like to concentrate their future business activities on the management and development of real estate. Transaction preparation included the carve-out of Brummer’s operating activities to afford the managing shareholders the option to finally choose between bidder concepts involving the sale or the rental of the company’s warehousing sites in Germany and Austria. Leveraging its sector expertise and global reach, Lincoln showcased the scarcity value of Brummer in cross-border food groupage to relevant financial investors as well as European and overseas logistics and transport groups, ultimately enabling the achievement of a very successful outcome for its clients.
