Lincoln’s Valuations Database Request

Every quarter, Lincoln’s Valuations & Opinions Group values between 1,600 to 1,800 privately held companies owned by private equity groups. At the end of every quarter Lincoln anonymizes and aggregates a wide array of company level financial information and creates two measures of current financial performance for U.S. middle market companies, the Lincoln Private Market Index and the Lincoln Valuations & Opinions Group Database.

Starting in 2011, Lincoln has measured the quarterly change in revenue and earnings, in aggregate and by industry, as well as profitability trends including the impact to earnings of EBITDA adjustments, leverage, and pricing of senior and subordinated debt. This information is presented in Lincoln’s Valuations & Opinions Group Database. While providing different fair value information, on a combined basis, this database and Lincoln PMI enable investors and analysts to better understand and benchmark performance in two opaque asset classes – private debt and private equity – against peers and the public markets.
