Summary
In this recent webinar, our panellists provided an insightful overview of the current trends in private markets, valuations, and secondary transactions.
Richard Olson highlighted the quarterly performance based on over 5,000 proprietary valuations, noting a decrease in acquisition valuation multiples due to shifting industry focus and leverage availability. Simon von Witzleben discussed the dynamic and increasingly active secondary market, expected to exceed $130 billion by 2024, with a significant shift towards single-asset continuation vehicle transactions and a trend of dealing at NAV premiums. Aude Doyen provided a short overview of alternative strategies for returning capital to LPs across portfolio company driven and fund driven solutions which we will continue to explore in our webinar series. Finally, Rebecca Park offered a detailed analysis of the political and economic implications of recent elections in France and the UK, predicting political uncertainty and challenging reform prospects in France, contrasted with expected political stability and economic clarity in the UK under Labour’s landslide victory.
