Lincoln International Managing Director Rob Brown Named One of Investment Dealers Digest’s 40 Under 40
Lincoln International, a leading global mid-market investment bank, announced today that Rob Brown has been named one of Investment Dealers Digest’s 40 Under 40 for 2007. Brown, Managing Director and head of the firm’s Business Services Group, was recognized by the publication for his many deal achievements during the past year as well as his contributions to the continued growth of Lincoln International over his past nine years with the firm.
Each year, Investment Dealers Digest honors 40 up-and-coming individuals under the age of 40 who’ve demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievements in their careers. This year’s winners hail from a wide range of companies and industries, from boutique mid-market firms to global law firms.
During the past year, Brown closed seven transactions spearheading several of Lincoln International’s marquee deals. In August, he worked with American Capital [Nasdaq: ACAS], in its sale of Swank Audio Visuals, a provider of outsourced audio visual services to the hospitality industry, to private equity firm Code Hennessy &Simmons. During the same month, Brown advised Merit Capital Partners in its sale of Southern Lime, a provider of lime chemicals, to UNIMIN, a subsidiary of Belgium based Sibelco.
Over the past nine years Brown has had a leadership role in Lincoln International’s recruitment programs and international expansion. Under Brown’s oversight of on-campus and lateral hires of associates and analysts, the firm has grown its North American employees from 6 in 1998 to 84 today. In addition, Brown has led the effort to cultivate strong relationships with leading business schools throughout the U.S. to identify and retain the best young talent.
As Lincoln International continues its global expansion, Brown will continue to play an integral role in cultivating deal leads and distinguishing the firm as the mid-market investment bank of choice among potential clients and the international deal community at-large. The firm already has offices in Chicago, Frankfurt, Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Vienna, and recently hired Darren Redmayne to oversee the launch of Lincoln International’s London office next year.
Lincoln International highly values hard work and integrity and Rob truly embodies those qualities, said Jim Lawson, Managing Director and Co-Chairman, Lincoln International. He’s played an important role in growing our business and leading some of 2007’s most lucrative deals.
Brown, who joined Lincoln International 1998 from PricewaterhouseCoopers, received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
