right4staff has been sold to Gi Group

Lincoln International, the independent global mid-market investment bank, has announced its role as exclusive financial advisers to right4staff in the sale of the business to Gi Group, a privately-owned global recruitment organisation based in Italy.

Founded in 1987, right4staff has grown to become one of the UK’s leading providers of industrial and commercial temporary workers with sales of more than £160 million.

The business has been sold to Gi Group, one of the world’s largest temporary staff recruiters with sales in excess of €800 million. Gi Group was founded by entrepreneur Stefano Colli-Lanzi who remains chief executive and majority shareholder. The company helps more than 280,000 people find jobs each year from 400 branches in Italy and internationally. In acquiring right4staff, Gi Group is fulfilling a strategic goal of entering the UK market with a significant transaction and materially increasing its international sales.

right4staff helps over 12,000 people every year in the UK find jobs in both temporary and permanent positions nationwide. It is led by chief executive Jess Watts, who joined the business in 2006.

Commenting on the transaction, Mark Barrow, Lincoln’s UK Head of M&A said, “We were delighted to assist the shareholders in realising a successful exit at an attractive price. In doing so, we were able to use our international offices to identify and contact a large number of potential international trade buyers, including Gi Group.”

Edward Lethbridge, Director at Lincoln International added, “right4staff is a very well-run business which has shown strong organic growth as the sector has recovered from the economic downturn. The scale and quality of the business attracted considerable trade buyer interest.”
