Barilla has sold Kamps to ECM
Kamps GmbH (“Kamps”), headquartered in Schwalmtal, is Germany’s leading craft bakery chain with five craft bakeries and more than 900 shops. The company employs approx. 1.000 people and has over 700 franchise partners with more than 4.000 employees. In 2009, Kamps achieved a total turnover of more than Euro 300 million.
With the sale of 100% of the shares of Kamps from Lieken AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Barilla Iniziative S.r.l., Kamps is well prepared to continue its growth and expansion plan that it has begun a few years ago. The management buy-out was executed by German Equity Partners III, the equity fund managed by ECM Equity Capital Management GmbH, Frankfurt. In addition, the current Kamps management team, led by Jaap Schalken, took a significant stake in the company. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
