Auctus Capital Partners has sold ACOMON to Mitsui Chemicals, Inc.
Funds managed by Auctus Capital Partners, Germany, co-investors and the management have sold 100% of the shares in ACOMON AG, Switzerland, a leading supplier into the global paramedical market for ophthalmic lenses (specialty chemicals), to Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (MCI), Japan. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Germany based Auctus owned the majority of shares in ACOMON.
ACOMON is headquartered in Zug (Switzerland) and has two manufacturing facilities located in Ravenna (Italy) and Pasadena (Texas, USA). The company supplies a “ready to cast” liquid monomer used in thermoset plastic lenses to its customers (lens casters).
Auctus is one of the most active and renowned German private equity partners with more than 40 majority buy-outs since 2003 in the mid-sized market segment. Auctus, based in Munich, mainly invests in buy & build, ownership succession and spin-offs/carve-outs of established and profitable businesses of all sectors.
