Defibtech has been sold to Nihon Kohden Corporation
Lincoln International, a leading global mid-market investment bank, has announced that Defibtech, LLC (“Defibtech”) has been sold to Nihon Kohden Corporation (“Nihon Kohden”), a publicly traded company (TSE:6849).
Based in Guilford, CT, Defibtech is a leading global designer and manufacturer of external defibrillators and life resuscitation devices for use in factories, offices, gyms, schools, businesses, hospitals, physician offices, emergency medical service, and military and public access markets. The integration of the two companies will create a strengthened force in the global Automated External Defibrillator (“AED”) market. Defibtech and Nihon Kohden have placed more than 360,000 AEDs throughout the world and expect that number to increase significantly. The integration of the technologies of both companies is expected to enhance their engineering capability, accelerate the product development process and further expand their research and development capabilities for advanced treatment equipment in the resuscitation field.
Lincoln International acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Defibtech, working closely with the company’s management team throughout the sale process. This included providing advisory expertise and managing the preparatory, marketing, negotiation and due diligence phases of the transaction.
