Arbonia has sold Schekolin’s plastic packaging coatings business has been sold to Siegwerk

The successful sale of the plastic packaging coatings business as part of the disposal of Arbonia’s coatings division underscores Lincoln International’s position as a leading M&A adviser in complex, cross-border corporate disposals ARBON – Building supplier Arbonia AG has in February 2017 sold the Plastic Tubes & Laminates coatings business of Schekolin AG to Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA. The parties have agreed not to disclose any financial details.

Lincoln International acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Arbonia for this transaction as part of the structured international sale process for Arbonia’s coatings activities. This transaction, together with the sale of Schekolin’s metal packaging coatings business to Italian Salchi Metalcoat and of Schekolin’s manufacturing facility in Bendern (Liechtenstein) to Finnish Teknos, provides for the complete sale of Schekolin AG. The successful completion of the three inter-dependent transactions underscores Lincoln International’s position as a leading M&A advisor for corporate disposals and strong advisory expertise in managing highly complex transactions.

Siegwerk, headquartered in Siegburg, Germany, is an international, market leading manufacturer of printing inks for packaging of any kind as well as newspapers, magazines and catalogues. The company has more than 5,000 employees and a global footprint with locations in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas. With the acquisition of Schekolin’s plastic packaging coatings business, Siegwerk broadens its portfolio by adding specialty UV varnishes suitable for plastic packaging including rigid tubes. This product line expansion further strengthens Siegwerk’s position as full-range provider for packaging applications.

For Arbonia, this transaction is a crucial step in the complete disposal of its coatings division which it has acquired in the context of the public takeover of Looser Holding.
