Aalberts Industries has sold BROEN-LAB to Capidea
Aalberts Industries has sold all assets related to BROEN-LAB, a business unit based in Assens (Denmark) to Capidea of Copenhagen (Denmark) and management. The transaction was signed in December 2014 and closed in January 2015.
Broen-LAB is a leading manufacturer of premium laboratory fittings and emergency showers used globally in professional laboratories, the education sector and industrial workplaces. The laboratory fittings product portfolio includes valves and fittings for the control and regulation of a wide range of mediums. The emergency shower product portfolio includes a wide range of eye and body showers.
Before the transaction, BROEN-LAB operated as a business unit of Danish based BROEN A/S, a wholly owned subsidiary of Euronext Amsterdam-listed Dutch industrial multinational Aalberts Industries N.V.
Aalberts Industries wants to focus more on defined business segments, markets and core technologies where a leading market position and a sustainable profitable growth can be achieved. Small divestments of non-core activities are part of this strategy.
Capidea is a Danish private equity fund making long-term investments in competitive small and medium-sized Danish companies. Capidea was established in November 2006 and has a total capital commitment of approximately Euro 200 million in two funds. Capidea’s second fund was established in March 2012 with a capital commitment of Euro 97 million.
Lincoln International acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Aalberts Industries, working closely with the management teams of BROEN-LAB and BROEN A/S throughout the sale process.
