Kolibri Beteiligung GmbH has been refinanced via a €145 million senior secured Nordic Bond Issue
Kolibri Beteiligung GmbH
Kolibri Beteiligung GmbH (Kolibri) is a leading German logistics group specializing in media logistics and aviation services, serving as the parent company for Zeitfracht Logistik Group (Zeitfracht) and German Airways. Zeitfracht (together with its subsidiary Zeitfracht Medien) provides end-to-end logistics solutions for Germany’s book, media and electronics sectors, ensuring reliable and efficient distribution. In addition, German Airways provides aviation services, working closely with major European airlines.
The Deal
Kolibri Beteiligung GmbH pursued a comprehensive refinancing solution to address the impending maturity of its existing bond and streamline its decentralized financing structure. The primary objectives were to optimize the group’s capital structure, secure liquidity for future growth opportunities and expand access to a broader institutional investor base. Additionally, the refinancing strategy needed to align with Kolibri’s operational priorities across its media logistics division and aviation services business. Lincoln International was engaged as exclusive debt advisor to facilitate this process. Lincoln’s efforts led to a successful outcome, improving the group’s financial flexibility and runway to execute on key strategic initiatives.
Dr. Wolfram Simon-Schröter, Managing Director at Kolibri Beteiligung GmbH, commented, “The successful refinancing of Kolibri marks a critical step in our journey to strengthen both our financial structure and our growth potential. Lincoln International’s expertise, strategic guidance and deep understanding of our business were instrumental in achieving this milestone. This refinancing ensures that we have the resources needed to capitalize on new opportunities in our respective markets.”
Maren Wolters, Managing Director at German Airways GmbH, commented, “We are delighted to have partnered with Lincoln International on this landmark transaction. Their Capital Advisory Group demonstrated unwavering dedication and professionalism throughout the process, helping us to not only optimize our financing structure but also position German Airways and Zeitfracht for future success.”
Our Perspective
Dominik Spanier, Lincoln International Managing Director who led the transaction, commented, “We are honored to have supported Kolibri on one of the largest Nordic bond issuances by a German issuer to date. With a total volume of €145 million, this transaction secured an outstanding financing package and attracted a diverse and broad institutional investor base, underscoring the strength of Kolibri’s business and the trust of the investment community.”
